Information
Baker
was a ardent Welsh actor known
for his sharp edged characterizations
in British thrillers and action
films of varying quality and
effectiveness.
Stanley Baker began acting when
he was a teenager. He appeared
in his first film in 1943 which
was called 'Undercover'. He
then gained a mass of stage
experience before seriously
pursuing movie roles in the
1950s.
Baker, who produced some of
his later films, was knighted
in 1976, just a few months before
his death from lung cancer.
