John was the stand-in and stunt double for Michael Caine. He also played the elusive 'Dave' in the film, a character that wasn't even credited. I'd always wondered who 'Dave' was.

John first worked with Caine on The Ipcress File. He went on to work on Alfie, Funeral In Berlin, Billion Dollar Brain, The Magnus, Deadfall, Get Carter (as stunt manager), Slueth, Playdirty, The Wilby Conspiracy among others. He has also doubled for Roger Moore, George Segal, John Lennon (on Hard Days Night and Help).
